Overview

Project PERUN GEN 3 is our best student rover yet. This mobile robotic platform is not scared of rough enviroments or complex tasks. It has an arsenal of tools and sensors to help it take on any challange. Designed and created entirely by CTU Robotics team. Oh, and PERUN stands for Planetary Exploration Rover with Unmanned Navigation.

Chassis

The chassis of the PERUN gen.3 was designed to be modular, able to mount on all hardware systems (RA, Drilling tool and Mast ). Its waterproof aluminium frame sits on a rocker-based suspension with four flexible wheels. These maintain excellent stability even in the roughest terrain conditions, center of gravity and allow for different driving patterns. Suspension design utilises technologies like CNC, welding and carbon fiber parts.

Perun Gen 3

Robotic Arm

The Robotic Arm with 6 DOF mounted on the rover is a custom-built, high-performance manipulator designed to perform advanced maintenance and dexterous manipulation tasks in unstructured terrain. Its made from aluminium tubes, 3D-printed high-performance nylon parts (PA12) that provides shock absorption and manufactured steel parts. It features a modular gripper systém for different tasks and dedicated camera for manual or autonomous control.

Electronics & Embedded

Electronics on board can be measured by kilograms and if software would weight something, it would be too. Deparment of electronics and software are one of the fastest changing parts on the machine and they give rover its computing power and bring it alive. It can be constroled by an operator or by developing autonomus system of its own.
